Sept. 14

A student reported the theft of a watch and Comet Card from the main gym of the Activity Center.

Sept. 15

A student reported criminal mischief damage to a vehicle in Lot B.

A non-affiliated person was arrested for an active warrant on Lookout Drive after being stopped for a traffic violation. A student passenger was arrested on four active warrants.

A student reported the theft of a pocket recorder from the Multipurpose Building.

Sept. 16

UTD Police arrested a student in Jonsson Hall on a felony arrest warrant for graffiti. The suspect was alleged responsible for more than 40 incidents of graffiti on the UTD campus.

A staff member reported the theft of a digital media projector from a classroom in the School of Management (SOM).

Three students reported the theft of backpacks from the property bins in the lobby of the Bookstore. Investigation resulted in the identification of a suspect and a felony arrest warrant was issued.

An alumnus reported a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Lot K. Property damage only.

Sept. 17

UTD Police responded to a complaint of alcohol at a freshman residence in Waterview Park (WP). A student was issued a campus citation for possession of alcohol by a minor. Incident referred to the Dean of Students.

Two students reported an incident of criminal trespass at a residence in WP.

Sept. 18

A student was arrested for two active warrants, after being detained by UTD Police for possessing alcohol in a freshman phase of WP. A campus citation was issued to the student for possession of alcohol by a minor. Another student, more than 21 years old, was issued a warning for having the alcohol in the freshman apartment phase. Incident referred to the Dean of Students.

Sept. 19

UTD Police responded to a loud noise complaint at a residence in WP. A student was issued a campus citation for possession of alcohol by a minor. Incident referred to the Dean of Students.

A student reported a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Lot K. Property damage only.

Sept. 20

A non-affiliated person was arrested on Drive A for an active warrant, after being stopped for a traffic violation.

A student reported the theft of a laptop computer and accessories from a study area in the McDermott Library. The laptop had been left unsecured and unattended.

A staff member reported the theft of $498 from the cash registers in the Comet Café. Investigation revealed a Dining Services staff member as the suspect. The staff member was terminated, and a non-prosecution form was completed by the complainant.

Two students reported their hand-bag and wallet stolen from the paint room in the Visual Arts building.

A staff member reported the burglary of a motor vehicle in WP. The burglary occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 10. Investigation led to the recovery of tools stolen from the vehicle. The complainant completed a non-prosecution form.

Sept. 21

A faculty member reported a theft of a textbook from the SOM mail room.

Sept. 23

A student reported the theft of a television and computer system from WP.

A student reported a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Lot B. Property damage only.

A student reported a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Lot A. Property damage only.

Sept. 24

UTD Police discovered a non-affiliated person sleeping in a vehicle parked in Lot I, and issued a criminal trespass warning citation.

A student reported a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Lot H. Property damage only.

Sept. 25

A student reported incidents of harassment by a faculty member. The complainant completed a non-prosecution form.

Sept. 27

A staff member reported receiving harassing communication in Founders North Hall.

UTD Police and Richardson Fire Department responded to a medical assist at the Soccer Complex. A non-affiliated person was transported to Parkland Hospital.

Sept. 28

A student reported a burglary of a motor vehicle in Lot H. A purse containing a cellular phone, student ID card and a checkbook was taken. There was no sign of forced entry or property damage.

A UTD Parking Controller discovered a vehicle in Lot G displaying a parking permit which had previously been reported as lost or stolen. On Sept. 29, the student owner of the vehicle was interviewed by UTD Police and issued a campus citation.

Sept. 29

UTD Police and Richardson Fire Department responded to a medical assist at a residence in WP. A student was transported by RFD ambulance to Richardson Regional Medical Center.

A student reported the theft of a laptop computer from the Student Union. The laptop had been left unsecured and unattended.

A student reported the theft of a wallet from a pool in WP. The wallet contained $70 cash, credit cards, a $50 gift card and identification.
