Four more UTD Police Department employees were placed on administrative leave June 5 as the result of an ongoing investigation, including Asst. Police Chief Debra Marable, Officer Ryan Ballard, noncommissioned guard Tammy Grigg and administrative assistant Mary Spradlin.

In the celebratory atmosphere of the McDermott Suite in the McDermott Library on June 3, practically half of the people present at the memorial in honor of the former Vice President of Academic Affairs Alexander Clark raised their hands at the question, "who here was hired by the late Dr. Alexander Clark?"

Pub alcohol sales a possibility for fall

UTD students could be drinking alcohol in The Pub as early as this fall. On March 5, the Alcohol in the Pub Advisory Committee (AITPAC), an ad-hoc committee of Student Government (SG) sent a recommendation for alcohol to be sold in The Pub to UTD president David Daniel.

Departments shuffle housing Facilities Management (FM), The UTD Police Department, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will move locations during June and July. The new FM building is located on the campus' northeast quadrant. Phone numbers and email addresses for FM personnel and services won't change with the department's location.

Collections represent chance to safeguard veterans' history, future

After the declassification of thousands of intelligence documents revealed a handful of Air America pilots had been omitted from a memorial plaque, veteran's groups and historians were brought to UTD June 5 to rededicate the memorial. This attention to detail toward veterans is excellent paradigm as UTD looks back and moves forward.

Dower's year as regent

When I first joined the Board of Regents, I thought I was well prepared. I had just finished my term as Student Government (SG) President, and I had great familiarity with UTD's administration. I even knew a bit about The University of Texas System, due to my experiences on the Student Advisory Council.
